Stogie Joe's Tavern: Experience Authentic South Philly Flavors

We come here every time I come back to visit and I wouldn't have it any other way! Their food is heavenly. We had amazing service, I had a great table red and pizza that I wished never ended. This is a cash only spot but don't worry there is an ATM on site. They have a great spot on SP and have a garage door that rolls up and creates an outside garden feel, even if you're sitting at the bar! Stop in. Grab a bucket of beers or a bottle of wine!

In town for a medical appointment, stopped in. Had drinks, their fried mozzarella wedges with their own marina. Very flavorful. My friend had a burger which he seemed to enjoy. I had the chicken parm sandwich which I requested open face. It was served on ciabatta bread. Once again their breading, the chicken and sauce was awesome. We're planning to go back to try more of their food! Nice place.

Presently surprised!! The first impression you get from the bar like atmosphere might not leave you to believe that the food is great. The server was nice and the food came out quick. We had the square pizza and really enjoyed it. We'll be back.

I love their house salad, their sausage bites and their pizza is amazing. The services is great and the restaurant just feels like home with the music playing. Everybody's in a good mood.

Food was authentic South Philly. Great sandwiches, pizza was old school and salads was huge. Cocktails were healthy. Service was prompt, consistent and friendly. Sat in the area with garage doors, great view, cool vibe watching the street. Owner stopped by and was quite nice.

Wonderful food! Very good salads, ciders and mussels. I also enjoy their Quizzo night.

Another Diners DriveIns and Dives spot in the books! We stopped here for lunch after a hike in Wissahickon. We really enjoy the East Passyunk area and how Stogie Joes has the garage door opening on the front so you can enjoy the street view without having to eat outside and be on the sidewalk with people walking right up on your table. We ordered the cheese pizza and Buffalo wings and I loved both. My husband did not like the pizza as much. It's a square pizza so not your typical NY style. The crust is thin and crusty and the sauce is on top. Overall, it's a solid place to try when in the area and it's Guy Fieri approved

Food here wasn't the best I've ever had but I'd definitely return as the staff was very friendly and the food does hit the spot. I ordered the crab spaghetti and my husband and son shared a pizza. Everything came out so quickly that you could still feel the heat from the stove! Monday night is apparently quizzo night but even though we weren't competing, it was to try to guess the answers as the MC announced the questions. Only minor minus is that it's cash only but they do have an ATM on premise.
